Prof. Javad Lavaei, a 2003 alumnus from SUT’s Electrical Engineering Department and Prof. Saman Zonuoz, a 2006 alumnus from SUT’s Computer Engineering Department, won the prestigious PECASE 2019 award. Prof. Lavaei and Prof. Zonous are currently Associate Professors at UC Berkley and Rutgers University, respectively. It is worth mentioning that the Presidential Early Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on outstanding scientists and engineers at the outset of their independent research careers.
