The Article of SUT shines in Analytical Chemistry Journal

Sharif University of Technology's Department of Chemistry has made a significant breakthrough in the field of analytical chemistry. Led by faculty member Mohammad Reza Hormozi-Nezhad, the research team has published a groundbreaking paper titled "Machine Learning-Assisted Colorimetric Assay Based on Au@Ag Nanorods for Chromium Speciation" in the world's most prestigious analytical chemistry journal.

The team's research focuses on the development of new colorimetric methods for the typology of chromium elements in surface waters, utilizing the unique optical properties of gold-silver plasmonic core-shell Nano-rods and artificial intelligence techniques (machine learning). Chromium, which is found in nature in different oxidation states and different chemical forms, has varying degrees of toxicity for different ecosystems, making it a dangerous pollutant. Therefore, quick detection, measurement, and differentiation between chromium species is of particular importance in various environmental samples.

The Analytical Chemistry journal is considered the best journal in the field of analytical chemistry, with a grade 8 ranking. The publication of this paper is a significant achievement for the research team at Sharif University of Technology, and their innovative approach could lead to new advancements in the field of analytical chemistry.
