SUT Tops Iranian Universities in Times Higher Education 2024 Rankings

According to the Public Relations Department of Sharif University of Technology (SUT), the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings for 2024 have listed 73 Iranian institutions. In this ranking, SUT secured the top position among Iranian universities and ranked between 350-300 globally. The 2024 edition of the rankings includes 2,673 universities from over 120 countries worldwide.

Times Higher Education ranking system is recognized as one of the most reputable global university ranking systems, evaluating universities since 2010. The 2024 rankings are based on 18 performance indicators across five areas, including teaching (weighted at 29.5%), research environment (weighted at 29%), research quality (weighted at 30%), international outlook (weighted at 7.5%), and industry engagement (weighted at 4%).

Iranian universities have consistently been present in these rankings, and this year we witness the progress made by these institutions in the Times Higher Education rankings.

Specifically, SUT achieved a score of 39.1 in the teaching indicator, ranking 330th globally. In the research environment indicator, it scored 37.4, securing the 300th position. For research quality, it scored 78.3, placing it at 356th. In terms of industry engagement, it achieved a score of 86.2, ranking 193rd. Lastly, in the international outlook indicator, it obtained a score of 37, positioning it at 1237th in the world.
