SUT Graduate Makes History with Wireless Energy Transfer from Space to Earth

In a groundbreaking achievement, the California Institute of Technology, led by SUT graduate Dr. Ali Hajimiri, has successfully transferred energy wirelessly from space to Earth. The Space Solar Power project, implemented under the supervision of the Iranian scientist, has caught the attention of many companies and countries interested in gathering and storing solar energy from orbit and transmitting it to Earth.

Dr. Ali Hajimiri, a renowned entrepreneur and inventor in the electrical engineering field, has become the first person in the world to achieve this . Having completed his electrical engineering degree at SUT, he went on to get his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. Among his many accolades, he has won gold and bronze medals in Iranian national and international physics Olympiads, respectively. He has also been honored by prestigious institutions such as IBM School and the Institute of CAREER. Additionally, he serves as an assistant and referee for the highly-cited IEEE journals.

With this new development, the possibilities for clean, sustainable energy sources have expanded greatly, and it is likely to have a significant impact on the future of energy production and consumption.
