SUT Faculty Member as a New belonging of TWAS

According to the latest announcement by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Professor Mahmud Fotuhi-Firuzabad former president and a member of the electrical engineering department of Sharif University of Technology (SUT) was introduced as a new member of TWAS to represent Engineering Sciences.

More than 1,000 scientists from around 70 countries are members of TWAS, a merit-based science academy founded for under-developed countries. Currently, 20 (40%) of the newly nominated members are females. Six members are from the lesser developed countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, and Nepal, and the last two countries have had the fewest members in the academy up to now.

This international scientific association had previously only introduced 19 Iranians as members. The medical field was represented by four members from Iran, the engineering field by one, the agricultural field by two, the physics by four, and last but not least mathematics by one person.
