In the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Ranking, with 18 steps elevation, Sharif University of Technology ranked 58. Accordingly, Sharif University of Technology ranked first among the member universities of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (comprehensive and technology), and ranked second among Iranian universities. This success has been achieved in a way that in the latest Asia universities ranking, there were 47 Iranian universities from which 7 universities secured a place among top 100 Asia universities. What is more, in two main areas of research and industrial income, SUT achieved the first place in Iran.
The Times Ranking 2021 comprises 551 universities from 30 countries. The Times is one of the internationally recognized Ranking systems, starting assessment of Asia universities besides international ones since 2013. The methodology of this ranking is analogous to the global ranking of the universities, including 13 indicators in 5 categories of teaching, research, citations, industrial income, and international outlook.
