A remarkable success for Ph.D. candidate of SUT

Keyvan Mohammadi, Ph.D. candidate of SUT supervised by Professor Movahhedy, notched up a great educational success during his sabbatical program at Skoltech, Russia. The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) is a private graduate research institute in Moscow, Russia. Established in 2011 in collaboration with MIT, Skoltech cultivates a new generation of researchers and entrepreneurs, promotes advanced scientific knowledge and fosters innovative technology to address critical issues facing Russia and the world. “The attractive campus with unique design, new and high-quality equipment, international supervisors, expert engineers as well as responsible staff has provided a special atmosphere for research and realization of the researcher’s ideas” Keyvan mohammadi said.
In the wake of the satisfactory situation and limitless potential, three proposals for cooperation were presented in the first month in a session with Professor Akhatov, researchers, and engineers of CDMM while introducing Sharif University of Technology. These proposals are entitled as “Robust additive manufactured electrodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting process”, “Orientation optimization for SLM 3D Printed parts”, and “Additive manufacturing of pentamode metamaterial structures”. These efforts ended up in publication of the cooperated research article in Applied Physics Letters journal, which is a prestigious one with high impact factor. Commenting on Skoltech, he said, “after visiting Skoltech, my perspective has completely changed and I believe “Skoltech can be a good alternative to America”.
