A phenomenal success for Iranian students in IOI 2020


 

Iranian students won three gold and one silver medals in the 32nd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2020) Singapore, held virtually due to coronavirus outbreak restrictions, from 13 to 19 September 2020. IOI is the most prestigious computer science competition for secondary school and high school students around the world.
In this tough competition, by winning three gold and two silver medals, the Iranian team stood in the second place after china with regard to medal ranking, sharing the stage with United States and Russia. In terms of score ranking, the teams of China, the United States and South Korea came first to third, respectively, and Iran ranked fourth in the world. In this team, Shayan Pardis, Ali Safar, and Kasra Mazaheri each reaped a gold medal and Abolfazl Soltani won the silver medal.
The Iranian team also bettered the record with has plateaued since 2000 with 2 gold medals. The four medals won by Iranian genius students brightly shines in the history.
