In the QS latest Subject Ranking, announced on February 27, 2019, Sharif University of Technology was ranked 308 in Engineering and Technology, recording a considerable improvement up from #451-500 in 2018.
According to the findings from this year’s results, SUT is Iran’s top university in the fields of Chemistry, Physics (in Natural Sciences), Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (in Engineering and Technology) and Statistics and Operational Research (in Social Sciences & Management).
Dr. Simchi, Dean of International Affairs at Sharif, expressed his gratitude to the academic staff of the university whose outstanding performance in education and research contributed highly to accomplishing such a success at an international level. He added, “in the last year SUT had achieved notable ranks in merely 3 disciplines, but in the mostly recent announced results Sharif was in the list of top universities in 2 broad subject areas and 9 majors.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are compiled annually to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject. Research citations, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics are used to rank universities
